The wonderful island of Naxos is famous for its long coastline with numerous golden beaches, unspoilt and charming.
Naxos is ideal for beach holidays as there are more than 30 beaches, most of them awarded the Blue Flag, with amazing natural surroundings and excellent climate.
In Naxos there are organized beach resorts with tourist facilities, taverns, shops and Naxos apartments, but also secluded, undiscovered coves, ideal for snorkeling and diving, and even a couple of naturist beaches.
Access to most beaches in Naxos is easy, as there are frequent public buses that can take you to stunning destinations with amazing sand and waters.
One of the best beaches in Naxos, Maragas is a very long beach located on the western coast of the island, at the beginning of Plaka beach. It is truly one of the most beautiful Naxos beaches, not only because our Naxos apartments and camping are literally one step from its coast, but also because of its soft white sand and clear waters.
Maragas beach is surrounded by trees and in late August or early September the sand even grows flowers. This place is ideal for families with children, as the waters are shallow and gets deeper gradually. The beach offers several organized facilities and a water sports centre is very close.
It is organized in some parts with umbrellas, sunbeds, taverns and many accommodation options. Beach parties are frequently organized there in summer. Plaka is also, unofficially, a nudist beach, attracting a lot of naturists every summer.
Agios Prokopios is among the most popular beaches in Naxos, located just 5 km away from Naxos Town. Its impressive shore consists of golden gritty sand, sand dunes and is surrounded by beautiful trees. The beach of Agios Prokopios extends for over 1,5km and is organized with tourist amenities, taverns, restaurants and bars.
At the south western part of Naxos is the stunning beach of Mikri Vigla, the best spot in Naxos for kitesurfing. Mikri Vigla actually consists of two very long beaches with white sand and crystal azure waters, separated by a stretch of land and creating a magnificent scenery.
The one part is affected by Meltemi winds, thus it has the perfect conditions for watersport activities, such as kite or wind surfing, while the other part is calm and ideal for families.
Agia Anna is a spectacular sandy beach and gets quite popular, as it is blessed with idyllic setting and offers a lot of organized tourist facilities nearby. Its crystal blue waters are perfect for a refreshing swim after sunbathing on the soft golden sand. All along the coast there are umbrellas and sunbeds to rent and also many taverns, restaurants and lovely bars.
